How are they Solving it?
Microalgae are the first link in the food chain, producing compounds that protect themselves and all the organisms that consume them. AlgaeBio+ developed the production of natural Astaxanthin from microalgae, being its main protective substance against solar radiation. Astaxanthin also has an amazing red color that captures free radicals working as the strongest antioxidant known to date with extraordinary benefits both for human and animal health. One of the many uses for this antioxidant is the replacement of artificial petroleum-based dyes in the coloring of salmon, trout, and shrimp. Algaebio+ has carried out biological tests on trout with successful results, which has allowed a commercial alliance with the aquaculture sector. Furthermore, another pink dye is currently being isolated and thus expanding the offer of natural and innocuous coloring agents. A post pandemic world demands the development of natural effective antiviral compounds for the prevention and treatment of new diseases.
